Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase - February 1-16, 2020

Tucson becomes a playground for the world of international gem and mineral collecting and selling when the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase arrives in January-February every year.

The showcase is more than just one show. It takes place at multiple locations focused mainly in downtown-midtown Tucson. Treasure hunters from near and far come to hunt for jewelry, track down jewelry-making supplies, and browse collectibles and treasures, both rare and bargain priced. You can navigate Tucson's largest public event with the following information for visitors, retail dealers, and show owners.

Here's What You Need to Know

More Than One Show

Tucson's gem show actually includes more than 40 different shows at dozens of locations around town, from exhibit halls to hotels, and clusters of roadside exhibit tents. The show mix is varied every year. Most shows are open to the public with free admission.

Family-Friendly

TheTucson Gem & Mineral Show® packs the downtown Tucson Convention Center over the final weekend of mineral madness, pulling in thousands of treasure-hunters from all around the globe. Free seminars and a Junior Education Area with hands-on activities make this show a big draw for families! Read how the Tucson Gem & Mineral Society started this show in 1955 and other gem show history here.

Not Just For Pros

While this event attracts serious collectors of gems, minerals, fossils, and meteorites, it's the "cool" factor that makes it one of the biggest and best events of its kind. Thousands of people from all walks of life come to gawk at gold, oooh over opals, and dig dinosaur fossils. Find answers to frequently asked questions here.

Fall Gem Shows

The giant Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase has always taken place in winter, near the start of every year, but a second gem show event is gaining momentum in autumn. Check out our fabulous Fall Gem Shows here.

Rock All Year

Rock hounds and mineral mavens can find Arizona treasures and lapidary-related gifts, maps, and books at the University of Arizona Mineral Museum, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, and other area attractions and retailers.
