Tucson, AZ — The 2026 HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival which hits town January 16-24, is not only about marquee venues, but also about the intimately powerful spaces like the Century Room where many of the shows are performed.  Opened in 2022 and located within the historic Hotel Congress, it has emerged as one of the nation’s most atmospheric and musically authentic jazz clubs.

The Century Room has distinguished itself throughout the jazz world with its exceptional acoustics, warm décor, and a transportive ambiance that evokes memories of storied jazz rooms in New York, New Orleans, and the American Southwest.

Its performance stage is acoustically engineered, supported by a pristine backline (piano, organ, etc.).  With nightly shows curated by Artistic Director Arthur Vint, an outstanding craft cocktail program and mezcal bar, the Century Room offers a sensory experience like no other.

At the Century Room, every note feels closer, every breath feels alive,” says Vint, “It’s a refuge for jazz lovers — not just a show, but a full-bodied moment.”

This year, the festival’s lineup in this intimate space will include eight standout performances, many with very limited availability. Tickets for all can be purchased at https://tucsonjazzfestival.org

In such an environment, there’s no barrier between audience and artist — every nuance of tone, every improvisational turn, every breath counts. This is jazz at its most immediate and alive — and in a venue whose very soul amplifies the music.

New Venues, New Horizons

While the Century Room embodies intimacy, the festival also stretches outward. The Hamilton de Holanda Trio opens AZPM’s new Paul & Alice Baker Center for Public Media, marking the inaugural concert in a space designed for sonic clarity and artistic connection. Expect a merging of Brazilian roots, choro, and jazz in a setting built for discovery.

Cuba Meets Brazil with Chuchito Valdés & Diego Figueiredo, will take place at another new venue, La Rosa, located in midtown. This Afro-Cuban piano and Brazilian guitar pairing promises bold cross-cultural interplay in a fresh concert setting.
