Founded during the Great Depression by visionary Isabella Greenway and owned by her family since its inception, the Inn now begins a new chapter under passionate local stewards and seasoned hotel operators committed to honoring its irreplaceable legacy while preparing it for its next century.

"Our families all have deep connections to the Inn, just as so many generations of Tucsonans do," said The new ownership group - Jim and Kerrin Berwick, Greg and Marla Amado, Brian and Shamra Strange, Phil and Mimi Amos, Kirk Saunders and Ann Peterson and Steve and Margot Kerr. - describe themselves not as owners, but as custodians of a Tucson treasure. Strange, an experienced owner and manager of boutique hotels, will oversee the management and renovations of the hotel through his management company S Hotel Properties. The new team will embark on a thoughtful refurbishment and restoration of the property. Guest rooms will be refreshed with care, preserving their traditional Spanish Colonial elegance while enhancing comfort and amenities for the modern traveler.
The historic bar - once praised by Frank Lloyd Wright as the finest room west of the Mississippi - will be revitalized and reintroduced as Bar 1933, celebrating both the year Isabella Greenway served as Arizona's first Congresswoman and the year the Inn poured its first post-Prohibition cocktail. The bar will once again reclaim its place as Tucson's most timeless gathering spot.
The Inn's culinary program will also be refreshed, preserving beloved classics while introducing new flavors and seasonal dishes that bring a contemporary flair. For nearly a century, the Arizona Inn has been Tucson's dining room for milestone celebrations, weddings, graduations, and family traditions. That legacy will continue.
The Greenway House will be transformed into a world-class spa featuring premium wellness services, while the Inn's legendary gardens, iconic pink masonry walls, and signature tile roofs will continue to be lovingly maintained.
Enhancements to the pool area will revive the carefree glamour of a classic desert resort. Guests can relax under bold cabana stripes or reserve private cabanas for an elevated retreat. Circulating bar carts will serve fresh juices, handcrafted cocktails, and light poolside bites, creating a vibrant social scene where leisure and indulgence meet.
In addition, a new private membership program will provide access to exclusive spaces for important meetings, private dinners, and an honor bar.
