TUCSON, AZ — Mercado San Agustín, one of Tucson’s most beloved community gathering spaces, proudly announces its 15th anniversary Quinceañera celebration—marking a decade and a half of vibrant culture, local entrepreneurship, and neighborhood connection in the heart of the city’s west side.

What began as a modest plaza inspired by traditional Mexican marketplaces has evolved into a dynamic destination where residents and visitors alike come to eat, shop, gather, and celebrate. Originally imagined as a response to Tucson’s need for a place rooted in heritage, walkability, and authentic local character, Mercado San Agustín has grown into a thriving hub that blends old-world inspiration with contemporary Southwest energy.

From its earliest days, Mercado San Agustín’s mission has been to incubate small business—providing an environment where independent concepts can take root, evolve, and thrive. Among its most notable success stories are Presta Coffee Roasters and Seis Kitchen—two homegrown businesses that began with modest footprints at the Mercado and have since grown into beloved regional brands with multiple locations throughout the city. Their success reflects Mercado's unique launchpad for local entrepreneurs where creativity is nurtured, risk is supported, and authentic local flavor flourishes.

“This anniversary is really about the people,” said Kira Dixon-Weinstein. “The merchants, the neighbors, the customers and the families who have made this space what it is. Mercado San Agustín was always meant to feel like it belonged to Tucson—and 15 years later, that spirit is stronger than ever.”

The Quinceañera celebration will feature Azteca Dancers, a Blessing, speeches from Tucson’s Mayor Romero, Vice Mayor Santa-Cruz, Menlo Park Neighborhood Association President Kylie Walzak, founders Adam Weinstein and Kira Dixon-Weinstein, Isabel Montaño from La Estrella Bakery, Ahydee Almazán from Dolce Pastello, live music from Chicha Dust and Lupita Miranda and specials from beloved merchants.

As Tucson continues to grow and change, Mercado San Agustín remains committed to its founding vision: fostering connection, supporting local businesses, and creating a space that feels both timeless and alive.
