TEMPE/TUCSON, Ariz. – (June 25, 2026) – Arizona Theatre Company (ATC), the official state theatre of Arizona, today announced the appointment of Michael J. Seiden as chair of its board of trustees. Seiden’s term begins July 1 and he will lead ATC’s governing board as it advances its mission of bringing transformative live theatre experiences to audiences throughout Arizona.

 

A respected nonprofit leader, arts advocate, author, investor and theatrical producer, Seiden brings more than 45 years of executive leadership experience spanning business logistics, information systems, strategic planning, executive management, coaching, teaching and higher education. He currently serves as a member of ATC’s board of trustees and previously served as board chair.

 

“Michael has been one of Arizona Theatre Company’s most dedicated champions and thoughtful leaders for many years,” said Pat Engels, outgoing chair of ATC’s board of trustees. “His previous service as board chair, combined with his deep commitment to the arts, strategic perspective and passion for our mission, make him the ideal person to lead the board into its next chapter. I am confident that under Michael’s leadership, ATC will continue to strengthen its position as Arizona’s premier professional theatre while expanding its impact throughout the communities we serve.”

 

During his distinguished career, Seiden has served as director of information systems for a multinational manufacturing company, an information management consultant and president of Western International University. His expertise spans organizational leadership, innovation, strategic planning and community engagement, making him a valued leader in both the nonprofit and private sectors.

As board chair, Seiden will work closely with ATC leadership and trustees to support the organization’s strategic priorities, strengthen community engagement and advance long-term fiscal sustainability initiatives. His appointment comes as ATC continues to build momentum through artistic excellence, audience growth and donor investment in its future.

Seiden holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Rutgers University, as well as both a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science from Lehigh University.
