TUCSON, ARIZONA 15th October 2025 - El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort is proud to announce the long-awaited return of horseback riding to the resort, in partnership with Colorado-based equestrian outfitter Tattered Saddle. Beginning this December and running through April - Tucson’s idyllic off-season - guests and locals alike can once again experience the magic of riding through the Sonoran Desert landscape with the breathtaking Catalina Mountains as their backdrop.
This exciting partnership brings horses back to El Conquistador’s on-site stables and trail access for the first time in years, responding to long-standing community interest and guest requests.
“We are thrilled to bring horseback riding back to the resort after so many years,” said Shelby Francom, General Manager of El Conquistador Tucson. “For a long time, locals and returning guests have asked us if horses would ever return - and now, thanks to our partnership with Tattered Saddle, the answer is yes. The timing is perfect for both our visitors and the horses, with Tucson’s cooler season offering an ideal and comfortable riding environment.”
Horseback rides will be offered on-property, where guests can enjoy sweeping desert views and dramatic vistas of the Catalina Mountain range, as well as on the adjacent Linda Vista Trail, known for its scenic desert terrain and panoramic overlooks. The resort’s equestrian facilities include a horse corral and a check-in area, providing a safe and immersive environment for riders of all experience levels.
Most local Tucson horseback ride offerings range between $100-$110 per person. However El Conquistador Tucson will be offering horseback rides at affordable price points for people of all ages. Shelby elaborates, “It’s no secret that the average American is carrying the burden of greater costs these days. We’ve listened to the call from local residents and resort guests to provide memorable outdoor experiences at affordable price points. We’re so happy we’re now able to provide this through our fantastic local partners, Tattered Saddle”.
Tattered Saddle, known for its dedication to horse welfare and rider experience, brings a team of seasoned professionals and well-trained horses to the resort. The company specializes in creating memorable, family-friendly trail rides in harmony with the natural environment.
“El Conquistador Tucson is the perfect place for our seasonal operation,” said Kyle Wanless, co-owner of Tattered Saddle. “With its beautiful location we’re able to offer guests and locals a premium riding experience in a setting that celebrates the spirit of the Southwest.”
