Tucson, AZ -- Join Reid Park Zoo on Tuesday, January 27 from 8:30 a.m. to noon for a special media preview of the upcoming exhibit of Sean Kenny's Nature Pop! at Reid Park Zoo. The exhibit will open to the public on Friday, January 30.
Produced by Imagine Exhibitions, Nature POP! Made with LEGO® bricks showcases 40 brilliantly colored and amazingly created sculptures crafted exclusively with LEGO® pieces – over 800,000 bricks to be exact! Blending art, science and innovation, each whimsical masterpiece was created by acclaimed artist Sean Kenney, a former judge on the TV series “LEGO® MASTERS. As guests wind their way through the Zoo’s scenic pathways, they will encounter these playful works, including a towering 7-ft polar bear mother and her cubs, a prancing fox, a majestic lion standing on alert, and intricately detailed dragonfly with light filtering through its outstretched wings.
The exhibit will add a pop of wonder and a pinch of nostalgia to the Zoo through May 12, 2026 as a popular toy comes to life, inviting guests to explore that just as LEGO bricks are connected, everything in nature is also connected in fun and unexpected ways. The exhibit is included in Zoo daytime admission and is free for Zoo members.
International LEGO® Day is on January 28th and to celebrate it and the launch of the exhibition, the Zoo is inviting the public to enter their own LEGO® creations in a community build contest for a chance to win a behind-the-scenes tour at the Zoo. There is a children and adult category. Details on the contest are at ReidParkZoo.org
Note: Media are welcome for the preview on January 27 or the Public Opening on January 30.
