TUCSON, AZ — The Century Room welcomes summer with an exceptional June lineup showcasing nationally and internationally acclaimed artists, celebrated album tributes, innovative original projects, and beloved local ensembles. Anchoring the month are the venue's signature headline performances every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, offering audiences an intimate listening experience with some of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz and creative music.

 

June's schedule balances major touring artists with unique one-night-only productions. Highlights include London saxophone virtuoso Alex Hitchcock's Letters From Afar album release tour, New York tenor saxophonist Adam Larson's two-night celebration of Michael Brecker, a Juneteenth performance by Tucson's acclaimed Newest Sound, bassist Mikailo Kasha's all-star quartet featuring vibraphonist Jalen Baker and pianist Tal Cohen, and tributes to iconic recordings by Pat Metheny and John Scofield, Chick Corea's Return To Forever, Anita O'Day and Oscar Peterson, and more.

 

In addition to the featured Thursday through Saturday performances, The Century Room continues its popular weekly programming with Hot Jazz Wednesdays, Monday big band performances by the Century Jazz Orchestra, Sunday Jazz Jams hosted by Cameron Davidson, and special community events including Mariachi y Mezcal, Father's Day celebrations, and late-night sessions every Friday and Saturday evening.

ABOUT THE CENTURY ROOM

A Borderlands Jazz Club & Mezcal Lounge

Since opening its doors in 2022, the Century Room has quickly become one of the premier jazz clubs in the country. Located on the campus of the historic Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson, the Century Room features a beautiful and acoustically engineered stage, elegant ambience and décor, delicious food, and a robust craft cocktail program. It is truly an escape into another time and place, somewhere between New York, New Orleans, and the Old West. World class music graces the stage nightly, with musicians traveling regularly from New York City, Los Angeles and New Orleans to perform. The Century Room has presented jazz legends including Bill Charlap, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Buster Williams, and Charles McPherson plus the next generation of jazz greats like Emmet Cohen, Christian Sands, Joel Ross and Linda May Han Oh, among many others. The Century Room experience also includes an extensive mezcal and agave spirit list, featuring dozens of ancestral and artisanal mezcals from across Mexico.
