Educators from Make Way for Books will be at the event to lead activities and provide resources to support your children’s learning journeys.

Oct 8, 7:30pm - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
April 2026 marked the 33 year anniversary of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s remarkable arrival onto the music scene. Since its formation in the early nineties in Ventura, California, the band has toured virtually nonstop, performing on average over 150 shows a year, and has produced a sizable catalog of recorded music, with sales of over 2 million albums to date. Early on, during their legendary residency at the Derby nightclub in Los Angeles, they reminded the world, in the midst of the grunge era no less, that it was still cool to swing. The band, co-founded by singer Scotty Morris and drummer Kurt Sodergren, was at the forefront of the swing revival of that time, blending a vibrant fusion of the classic American sounds of jazz, swing, and dixieland, with the energy and spirit of contemporary culture.

The Lovin’ Feelin’ is Back – The Righteous Brothers Live! Blue-eyed soul pioneers The Righteous Brothers are back! With a string of #1 classics, including the most played song in radio history, You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield topped the charts in four decades.
Altan is celebrating forty years on the road, bringing their native music to world-renowned stages such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Dublin’s National Concert Hall as well as to the famous Glastonbury Festival, Tradfest Temple Bar in Dublin, and Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany.
Building on this history, their latest album ‘Donegal’ was released in 2024 (Compass Records) and has received widespread positive reviews. Altan has long been at the forefront of traditional Irish music, blending the raw energy of their native Donegal-fiddle style with a rare, melodic sensibility. Being the first-ever Irish traditional band signed to a major record label, Virgin Records in 1995, The Boston Globe named them “The hottest group in the Celtic realm”.
The band’s original members, lead singer and fiddler, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Ciaran Curran on bouzouki and Mark Kelly on guitar are accompanied by accordion player Martin Tourish, and their newest member, fiddler and singer, Clare Friel. Altan has shared their music and musicianship with The Chieftains, Dolly Parton, Ricky Skaggs, John Prine, and more. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella, the Glamour Cat, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats and received her second Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a musical for her performance as Hesione in Triumph of Love. “Vivan Los Muertos with Las Cafeteras” is an enthralling production celebrating Life and Death, in the spirit of the Indigenous/Mexican practice known as Día de los Muertos. From the imagination of the legendary Chicano band, Las Cafeteras, the production revisits Mexican folklore to tell new stories while engaging old archetypes. The band invites students to participate in the show through conversation, singing, and dancing, as they bring original and traditional songs together in a moving invitation to travel through culture, rhythm and memory.

Step into a living time machine, with some late-October spooky flair! This immersive school show transports your students back to the early 1900s, offering a vividly entertaining window into the eras of urbanization, the Great Depression, and World War II. Through a combination of carefully curated (and suitably spooky) comedy film clips, cartoons, historic photos, and newsreel footage, history is transformed from a textbook lesson into a vivid, shared journey—one where students get to see how Tucson kids just like them experienced these historic milestones.
Your time machine will be the historic Fox Tucson Theatre! Before TV and streaming, theatres like the Fox were where people came to watch world events. Before recorded music and amplification, such theatres provided a live soundtrack on the built-in theatre organ. Students will experience this firsthand, with acclaimed organist Brett Valliant bringing the screen to life with his live, musical accompaniment on the Fox’s mind-blowing Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ.
This is an immersive voyage through time, connecting local heritage with global history.

Nosferatu (1922) Directed by F. W. Murnau. A cornerstone of the horror film, F.W. Murnau’s Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror is resurrected in an HD edition mastered from the acclaimed 35mm restoration by the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung. Backed by an orchestral performance of Hans Erdmann’s 1922 score, this edition offers unprecedented visual clarity and historical faithfulness to the original release version.
An unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Nosferatu is the quintessential silent vampire film, crafted by legendary German director F. W. Murnau (Sunrise, Faust, The Last Laugh). Rather than depicting Dracula as a shape-shifting monster or debonair gentleman, Murnau’s Graf Orlok (as portrayed by Max Schreck) is a nightmarish, spidery creature of bulbous head and taloned claws — perhaps the most genuinely disturbing incarnation of vampirism yet envisioned.
Nosferatu was an atypical expressionist film in that much of it was shot on location. While directors such as Lang and Lubitsch built vast forests and entire towns within the studio, Nosferatu’s landscapes, villages and castle were actual locations in the Carpathian mountains. Murnau was thus able to infuse the story with the subtle tones of nature: both pure and fresh as well as twisted and sinister.
