Tucson, AZ – As Tucson Botanical Gardens marks its 50th year as a cherished cultural landmark, the Gardens is partnering with renowned local muralists Ashley White and Shaurir Anand, co-founders of Delsa Designs, to create a striking public art installation that celebrates this milestone. The mural will honor the Gardens’ legacy of connecting community, culture, and nature while creating an enduring visual tribute for generations to come.
The mural will be painted in a bold Art Nouveau style on the exterior wall of the Gardens at 2150 N. Alvernon Way, transforming the space into a vibrant gateway that reflects the beauty and spirit of this beloved Tucson institution. The project exemplifies the Gardens’ commitment to integrating art, nature, and community engagement.
“Public art has the power to connect people and places,” said Ashley White and Shaurir Anand of Delsa Designs. “We’ve been fortunate to contribute murals across Tucson, and this project is our way of giving back to a space that’s touched so many lives.”
Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Tucson community, Delsa Designs successfully raised $16,000 through a grassroots fundraising campaign. The funds will cover design development, artist team compensation, equipment, city permits, and painting materials—demonstrating the community’s deep connection to the Gardens and commitment to celebrating its 50-year legacy through public art.
“This mural represents everything we stand for—creativity, collaboration, and community connection,” said Michelle Conklin, CEO/President of Tucson Botanical Gardens. “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we’re honored to partner with such talented local artists to create something beautiful that will inspire visitors for years to come.”
